Dr. Wagner is a registered and licensed dietitian with her DrPH. She’s certified in Public Health, Patient Safety, Lifestyle Medicine, Health Coaching, and a certified Community Health Worker Instructor. Dr. Wagner is an associate professor in the School of Public Health and the School of Health Professions at the UNTHSC and the Director of the UNTHSC State Certified Community Health Worker Training Center. Her research focuses on alleviating health disparities in underserved communities through health literacy. She’s a sought-after presenter and mentor who works to certify community health workers as conduits to health literacy alleviating community barriers to health.
She received 2018 Texas Health Literacy Hero Award from Texas Christian University, 2023 School of Health Professions Faculty Achievement Award and selected as NIH AIM AHEAD Scholar. In 2024, Dr. Wagner was elected as a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice. and received 2024 Texas Distinguished Dietitian Award.

Dr Rosie Nash is an active IHLA member who enjoys regular meetings with the Explorers. Keen to grow IHLA membership Asia Pacific. Senior Lecturer in Public Health (University of Tasmania), founding CEO of HealthLit4Everyone. Dr Nash has been recognized as Australia’s foremost children’s health literacy researcher. Seeks to redress inequities that exist locally, nationally & globally through raising awareness & supporting health literacy development. Meaningfully contributes to National and Tasmanian health literacy working groups and collaboratives. 2016: led HealthLit4Kids research program to respond to local need and an international gap in children’s health literacy. 2018: established Health Literacy & Equity Research Unit. Stephan Van den Broucke is professor of Health Psychology at the UC Louvain, Belgium. His expertise includes public health, health promotion, health literacy and patient education. He has been in charge of a range of national and international research projects including the European Health Literacy Survey, supervised over 20 PhD projects, served on scientific committees of various international conferences and authored over 150 publications, making him the 2nd most influential researcher in health promotion in the past 5 years according to ScholarGPS. He taught students in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia, and gave policy advice to authoritative bodies on public health in Belgium, the EU, and Oman. He is a Board member of the IUHPE and a member of the Technical Advisory Group on Behavioral and Cultural Insights of WHO/Euro and of the Scientific Advisory Group of the Asian Health Literacy Association, as well as president of the HealthNest consortium for health literacy in Belgium.

Since 2019, Dr Duong has been an Assistant Professor at the School of Nutrition and Health Sciences at Taipei Medical University in Taiwan and serving as vice president of the Asian Health Literacy Association, Geneva, Switzerland (2019-2024). He has been active in the International Health Literacy Association (IHLA) since 2020, is Chair of the Scientific Standards Committee, and is a member of IHLA`s Executive Board (2022-2025). Since 2018, he has been a regularly invited guest lecturer at Tufts University School of Medicine to teach classes at the Global Health Literacy Leadership Institute.
Dr. Duong has been closely working with other scholars on several research projects across Asia and Europe and with a growing number of institutions in Australia, the United States, and Africa. He is also a member and study PI in the Global Health Literacy Research Network (GLOBHL).
By March 2024, Dr. Duong has made significant contributions to the field of health literacy.
